Not only are Mike and Bill serious Farmall wonks, they are also accomplished musicians. Mike has a fairly state-of-the-art recording studio in his basement where he lays down the band's tracks. Joe put the bug in Mike's ear about using the studio to record some tractor audio. Mike made a recording of the F-20 first. He enjoyed that so much he promptly made audio tracks of some of our other tractors.
We think you will enjoy this addition to our web site. The recordings are in full digital stereo so no audio quality has been sacrificed. We want you to hear every nuance of these tractors possible--you will not find anything like this on the Web anywhere. Since these files are very high quality, they are somewhat large. If your internet connection speed is slow, downloading these files at first may be sluggish and jerky. When the downloads have cycled through one time, replaying them will work fine.
Crank up the volume! Hopefully you have a subwoofer on your computer--the W-9 really growls!
NEW!! Video of the W-9 on the Baker Test Fan Hartford Fair 2004
Well...this is my first attempt at making an MPEG video. The clip is much too short. I thought it was of longer duration, but as I recall now, during the Fan run, the belt slipped off the Fan pulley and wadded itself around the Fan shaft. An emergency shut down was in order. After we got things squared up again, it is apparent that the video documention of THE BEAST showing its prowess on the Fan was cut short. Oh, well! There will be other opportunities. I am disappointed in the video quality, too. At least the audio is in 16 bit stereo.
I added an AVI file from my digicam in June 2006 of the 460 mowing part of the old pasture ground. Turn it up! Joe
